I also bought a very old Satsuma biwa and have been unsuccessfully trying to find someone to do some minor cosmetic repairs on it and also to find strings. When I bought it it had the remnants of old silk strings on it but they were thrown away (I wish we still had them now).
Your posting is very interesting and if you have a source for silk strings (wild or not) would you please email me contact information? I would very much appreciate it. And would love to hear how your strings come out. Thanks you very much.

Ranjyo-san

I watched through-out the BS11’s program so called otona no jiyujikan which consisted of two parts last night.The talk of three persons （Agawa-san,Nire-san and Tamaoka-san） was tedious for me in the first half of the program.

The performance of Honda-san’ｓ piano was not quite bad.

We( I & my wife) longed for the second half of your program. Your biwa performance and comment striked us. We got intereｓting in the impressive and suprised each face of Agawa-san,Nire-san and Tamaoka-san who watched and stared to your biwa performance.

We got interesting in Irish fairy Banshee who would sob and announce death beforehand. We felt like wanting to hear Irish talk more. Although your old face with the mustache was dreadful, your present face was divinely mild and lookeｄ like a Japanese Buddhist image.

I repeated the recorded program 3 times yesterday.
